Useful Tips For Hold’em Manager 2 To Improve Your Game
In this article I discuss some Hold’em Manager 2 (HM2) issues, however not the most common expressions like stealing blinds, the importance of position, 3bet percentage etc.
I rather choose some interesting statistics which could improve your game but are normally not emphasized by other authors. The following paragraphs discuss these issues from HM2 and I suggest you make a conclusion and change your game accordingly.
Multi table report
This feature is important because it basically tells you how many tables you can play on comfortably at the same time. You might think it is better to play at 8-10 tables simultaneously because you can clear bonuses and make a lot of rakeback. Using the multi table report the stats can tell you if you lose more money by playing on more than for example 6 tables than what you win with rakeback and bonuses. I really like this statistical overview and I encourage you to take it seriously. Your inner instinct could be misleading and with the help of this statistic you can find the optimal number of tables and increase your earnings.
Day of week profitability
This stat can have a huge influence on your success. I suggest you import all your older stats into HM2 and check this stat. It can give you a good overview of which days you should play and which days not. I can say that on the weekend it is easier to win because of the many fish but during the week there are more regulars playing and your winning rate will be lower. However the difference and swings can be a lot larger than what you would expect so you should check which days are best for your game and play accordingly. Unfortunately if you want to win significant money in poker you most likely have to cancel some weekend activities.
Hourly profitability
This information is similar to the “day of the week profitability” but it divides the day into 24 hours and lets you know at which part of the day you have more success and when you should not play anymore. If you are a professional or at least a motivated poker player then you will have to change your life cycle. At least in Europe during the day there are not many games going on in most of the poker rooms. One of the peaks is when the Europeans are home at night, the other is when the Americans get home from work. You have to concentrate on such hours if you do not want to compete with regular players all the time. Keep in mind though: play during the hours when you are awake and your mind is fresh. It does not make any sense to wait for hours for fish players but by the time they are there you are tired and cannot play your “A” game.
Full ring position
This comparison gives you a good overview of which positions you make money in and where you lose. It is obvious that you will not earn any money in the long run in SB and BB and hopefully you show profit on the cutoff and button. You can go deeper into this stat to analyze your game and see where you play too loose and too tight. If you understand the importance of these stats you can save a lot of money by finding the weakest points of your game.
HM2 also has some disadvantages but now I thought I would focus more on the advantages of the site. Something I do not like is how difficult it is to find some stats. When you have a large variety, it is also sometimes not easy to choose from. And even when you know what kind of stats you are looking for the structure of the software does not make your life easier.
The other problem I do not like is when you choose your stats and save it, the software will not save the order of your stats and you will have to put them in order again when you open it. I am quite sure the site will work hard in the future to fix such problems.
I hope you enjoyed the article and with the help of these tips you can make more money in poker. Register to Hold’em Manager 2 and take advantage of the hundreds of interesting statistics.
