3.5 Million Players Suffer From Ultimate Bet’s Data Breach
Many might think if a poker site goes bankrupt then at least nothing unpleasant can happen to it in the future. Ultimate Bet (UB) is one more time in the top news of the poker world. About 3.5 million players suffer from UB’s data breach.
The confidential data was posted on the Two Plus Two forum and was removed after 8 minutes. The following data were affected: emailaddress, phone number, mailing address, name, login name, birth date, account balance etc. At least the passwords and bank account numbers are safe, but after this shock who knows… The real problem is that with email address, birth date and name people can do a large variety of things online if they have a good IT education.
Some interesting information was found in the data. Since the database was organized by countries, it is known that UB had about 2 million registered US players, 319 000 players from Canada, 137 000 from the United Kingdom and about 1 million from other countries.
The website where all the information was found and was free to download is now disconnected. No one knows until know who is responsible for the leak and why he did it. It is also unknown how many people downloaded the files but for sure it is in circulation in private hands.

Reading poker forums, most fans are very angry at UB of course. Most of the discussion is about encrypted passwords.
Subject: Poker stated they will look into the issue more and post any information as they find out more.
If you are still interested in playing online poker, you should not miss the best rakeback offers.
